Forthcoming International Conferences of the CCDS

Participation in 2016-17 Conferences

In the framework of the curriculum in the Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies - BA, MA, MBA and PhD students are offered to participate in the conferences of the CCDS taking place in Berlin and other cities around the world in order to enable additional professional experience and to enhance their studies with current real world examples of cultural diplomacy. During the conferences, students are invited to conduct interviews with the prominent speakers, assist in the moderation of the conferences, and participate in bilateral meetings with the prominent speakers & delegates.

The current political and security situation in many regions and countries together with the deteriorations of social norms for the use of violence, emphasizes the growing need for a greater cultural dialogue, understanding and trust in order to avoid further escalation. The 2016 Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy will therefore focus, on raising awareness and support for activities that promote global human rights. (More »)

The Berlin Economic Forum 2017 event will take place in Berlin for four days and will be held parallel to the International Tourism Trade Fair (ITB). The Forum aims to analyze and discuss global trends of nation branding with a particular focus on creative economies, sustainable tourism and responsible foreign investments and will demonstrate how these can be used as primary drivers for sustainable economic growth. The forum will also emphasize the use of cultural diplomacy practices in these fields and the importance of this for the success of the Nation Branding activities. . (More »)

The Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy 2015 »
"Building Bridges of Peace and Reconciliation in Times of Greater Global Insecurity"

The 2015 Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy aims to present all practices that the field of cultural diplomacy has to offer to the international community for their application to try to remedy and solve growing global challenges. The conference will bring together leading politicians, religious leaders, senior academics and celebrated artists together with representatives from areas of conflict in order to establish new institutions and initiatives that will help with these challenges using the practice of cultural diplomacy together with other practices and means.
