Participation in 2016 Conferences

In the framework of the curriculum in the Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies - BA, MA, MBA and PhD students are offered to participate in the conferences of the CCDS taking place in Berlin and other cities around the world in order to enable additional professional experience and to enhance their studies with current real world examples of cultural diplomacy. During the conferences, students are invited to conduct interviews with the prominent speakers, assist in the moderation of the conferences, and participate in bilateral meetings with the prominent speakers & delegates.

The Rise of Africa 2016 »
"Cultural Diplomacy and the Afro German Relations"

(Berlin; October 6th - 9th, 2016)

The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy has initiated the Rise of Africa 2016 conference in order to strengthen the economic and cultural bridges between Germany and Africa with the ultimate goal of fostering further cultural, business, investment and tourism exchange between Africa and Germany. "Cultural Diplomacy as a Means to Build Bridges between the Commonwealth and the World"

Held Parallel to the 60th BFI London Film Festival 2016)

The International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy in the Commonwealth will address the most important issues related to cultural diplomacy in the region, and look for methods by which cultural bridges and dialogue can be improved between the Commonwealth and the rest of the world. (More »)

"EU-Turkish Relations: The political, Economic & Cultural Dimensions"

EU-Turkish Week 2016 is a weeklong international conference that was created in order to strengthen relations between EU, Germany and Turkey, and to explore the future of its political, economic and cultural dimensions. In addition, EU-Turkish Week 2016 aims to raise awareness amongst the German public of the history and development of the German-Turkish community. (More »)

"Promoting Peace through Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue"

The latest terror attacks in Europe, the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and a growing political and economic instability of global magnitude create an imminent threat for global peace. From analyzing the entities behind these growing terror attacks, the way they are being executed as well as the reasons behind the escalation of the events, the urgent need for intense interreligious and intercultural dialogue is underlined in order to ease these prominent threats. The Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy 2015 »
"Building Bridges of Peace and Reconciliation in Times of Greater Global Insecurity"
(Berlin; December 10th - 13th, 2015)

The 2015 Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy aims to present all practices that the field of cultural diplomacy has to offer to the international community for their application to try to remedy and solve growing global challenges. The conference will bring together leading politicians, religious leaders, senior academics and celebrated artists together with representatives from areas of conflict in order to establish new institutions and initiatives that will help with these challenges using the practice of cultural diplomacy together with other practices and means.
